Activity

An Activity is a unit of work that has the following elements in Sun Link workflow:

• a name (the task itself)
• an Outcome (status when Activity is complete)
• a role (person assigned to it)
• a sequence number (for tracking in Sun Link)

Each type of Activity has a default role. A person filling that role is assigned to a Coverage Group. For example, an Underwriter is assigned to a set of Coverages that will go through the quoting process together.

The system sends Activities to the assigned person's In Basket. If there is no person assigned to a Coverage Group in a Risk Manager or Senior Risk Manager role, the system assigns Activities to the person in the next supporting role available. (Risk Manager Activities would be assigned to the lead Rep for a Case.)

The Activity sequence number is assigned according to a natural sequence. Activities with higher numbers usually occur later in the process than activities with lower numbers.
