A Coverage Group is a set of Coverages within a Case that will go through the quoting process together. The user creates the Coverage Group in Sun Link and can put Coverages into separate Coverage Groups if they want to assign different people to work on them or if the Coverages need to be independent, from a workflow perspective. For example, the user might want a Proposal to be created for some of the Coverages, while others are still in underwriting.
(The system initially puts Stop Loss Coverages into separate Coverage Groups.)

Coverage Groups were created to support workflow in the following ways:
- They appear in In Baskets.
- They can be assigned to persons.
- They are manipulated through Activities.
- They have Outcomes.
Turnaround time is defined for a Coverage Group only. Cases and Prospects do not have turnaround times. Therefore, Coverage Groups are used for most of the performance reports.
Note the explanations of the following terms as they relate to Coverage Groups and the performance reports:
Number of Lives The total number of lives for all Coverages in the Coverage Group. Activity The current or the last historic Activity of the Coverage Group. Underwriter The person assigned to the Coverage Group as Underwriter. RRAC Person The RRAC Person assigned to the current Activity or the last RRAC Activity, if the Coverage Group is currently in a Field Activity. Time Quoted The date when the Follow-up on Quote Activity started. Effective Turnaround until Quote The number of business days between the RFP-Received Date and the start of the last Quote Activity. Effective Turnaround until Proposed The number of business days between RFP-Received Date and the start of the last Follow-up on Quote Activity. Requested Turnaround The number of days between the RFP-Received Date and the Due Date. Requested Turnaround until Revised Due Date The number of days between the RFP-Received Date and the last revised Due Date. End Result Quoted, Re-quoted, or DTQ'd --from a RRAC perspective Due Date /
Effective DateThese dates are derived from any Coverage in a Coverage Group. Due in up to -7 days and in Underwriting The current date is 7 or more business days before the original or latest revised Due Date and the Coverage Group is in an Underwriting 1 or Underwriting 2 Activity. Coded "1" in the Workload Balancing Report. Due in up to -7 days and in follow-up on missing information The current date is 7 or more business days before the original or latest revised Due Date and the Coverage Group is in a Follow-up on Missing Information Activity. Coded "1" in the Workload Balancing Report. Due in -7 to +5 days and in Underwriting The current date is between 7 business days before and 5 business days after the original or latest revised Due Date and the Coverage Group is in an Underwriting 1 or Underwriting 2 Activity. Coded "1" in the Workload Balancing Report. On Time to Original Due Date Flag set to "Y" if the Coverage Group was on time to the original Due Date (i.e., quotes were released to the Rep before this date). If there is no completed Underwriting 2 Activity, this flag is set to NULL.
On Time to Revised Due Date Flag set to "Y"if the Coverage Group was on time to the latest revised Due Date (i.e., quotes were released to the Rep before this date). If there is no completed Underwriting 2 Activity, this flag will be set to NULL.The latest revised Due Date is the date of the latest change to the Due Date of any Coverage in the Coverage Group.
DTQ Flag Flag set to "Y"if the Coverage Group outcome code is DTQ, "N" if other, NULL if no outcome. Quoted Flag Flag set to "Y" if the Coverage Group was at least once in a Quote Activity. "N" if the last Activity has an end result and there was no Quote Activity. NULL if no end result and no Quote Activity. Re-Quoted Flag Flag set to "Y" if the Coverage Group was in a Requote Activity at least once. "N" if the last Activity has an end result and there was no Requote Activity. NULL if there is no end result and no Requote Activity. Sold Flag Flag set to "Y" if at least one Plan Design of any Coverage in this Coverage Group is assigned to a Proposal section where the Commitment Received flag is "Y". Missing Info Flag Flag set to "Y" if the Coverage Group was in a Follow-up on Missing Information Activity at least once. Missing Info Received Flag Flag set to "Y" if the Coverage Group was in a Follow-up on Missing Information Activity at least once and the Activity Outcome was Completed. Active Flag Flag set to "Y" if any Coverage in this Coverage Group is in process in the RRAC, i.e., the current Activity is assigned to a RRAC Person. Days after Rates Released The number of business days since an Underwriting 2 Activity has ended, but only if the following Activity was Quote. Otherwise NULL. Days after RFP Received The number of business days since the RFP-Received Date. Days before Due Date The number of business days before the Due Date. Days before Effective Date The number of business days before the Effective Date.
